Electric Blue-Bass Guitar-Music-String-Framed Art Print

Electric Blue-Bass Guitar-Music-String-Framed Art Print

Final step. Pick 2 songs to learn next week and practice them the same way we did Wild Thing. Good luck at your 3-song gig! I hope you enjoy this free online guitar lesson.

You just got your guitar now you need some free online acoustic guitar lessons. What do we start with? Well, what are your goals? Do you want to put together a band and play at parties, do you want to charm the hottest girl at school or do you just want to be able to play because you have always wanted to and you decided it's now the time? Whatever your reasons, I am psyched that you have decided to learn.

Before you start set your goals. Make a list of 10 songs that you would learn how to play. Just write them down and keep your list. Don't think about whether they are too hard to play. Chances are some of them will be and some of them won't be. Start with the easy ones. Ask around. Someone you know from school or work or your social circle will know how to play. Ask them which of your list is the easiest to play and start with that song.

Now we have our first goal. Let's say for example that you chose to learn "Wild Thing" for your first song. You will need to learn an A D and E chord. Make learning one chord new chord each day your goal. So Monday (if you are staring on a Monday), you will learn the A chord. This may take you some time.

Thursday calls for us to play our song. Are you ready? Two strums on a, 2 strums on D, 2 strums on E and 2 strums on D. Sound like Wild Thing yet? If it does keep on playing you are doing great. If it doesn't sing the song in your head for a few minutes and try to match what you are hearing with what comes out of your guitar. This will help out tremendously.

Free Online Acoustic Guitar Lessons - Learning Your First Song

Put your fingers on the chord. Look at your hand. Are your fingers curled so you are up on the tips? If not, fix them so they are. Give the chord a strum. How does it sound? If it sounds good and all the notes are ringing take your hand off. Now put your hand back on the chord and try it again. Remember to make sure you are on the tips of your fingers. If not fix them. Give us another strum. Hopefully it sounds good again. Once again take your fingers off the string and put them back on again. The reason we do this is because changing chords is harder than just learning them. So by doing this we practice getting our fingers moving to chords. Do this for about 10 minutes.

Friday is review the song day. Now Saturday or Sunday you must play the song for someone. It doesn't matter if you think it's not ready, just do it. No excuses. You have a gig this weekend even if it's only one song.

Customer Review: The last night-time reading light you'll need
This light is great. I read in bed every night while my wife sleeps. After going through 3 of the original Mighty Bright lights and dozens of replacement bulbs, I was desperate to find a solution that would last longer. It took a little getting used to the difference in the light, but it's plenty bright and doesn't disturb my wife. Absolutely buy the AC Adapter so you don't have to replace the batteries.

Guitar Maintenance and Prevention of Damage

For no reason should you keep you guitar anywhere that it's slightly likely to fall. If you don't have very good stands, wear it with your strap or put it back in the flight case. I know you may argue that those rock stars don't do all that with their guitars. And my response is "Those stars only need to ask and several top guitar makers will make them a few guitars to their minutest specifications."

Like everything made under the sun, your guitar is subject to wear and tear. There are many things that you need to take into consideration along with your guitar practice and one of such is your guitar maintenance.

Apart from storing your guitar well, it is a good practice to always clean your guitar after every use. Pay very close attention to the fret board and the strings. You know that sweat from your hands can easily corrode most strings.

These are just a few guitar maintenance tips. However, if you use them judiciously, your guitar will serve you for years and years on end.

If your guitar has fallen once, unless it is in a flight case, it is not the same guitar you bought again. I know this may seem like laying it on too thick. But believe me, this is so because anything that cause the neck of your guitar to take such impacts compromises its performance.

Take time to oil your guitar's tuning machine. This is especially true if your guitar uses the open tuning machine. Anything made of metal that has moving parts does better with oiling. Just make sure you drop only a little once in a while. This is not one of those tasks you should undertake on a daily basis.

As part of a good maintenance, you must store your guitar well. A lot of young guitarists seem to take this very lightly. For example, they keep their guitars in such places where they are very likely to slide off on fall.

Customer Review: Good Deal
it works good and it even has a sound mode where it is audible. Has a bass and guitar setting....you can also drop the tuning a half note to tune down or up easily, and for the money I paid $12.00 I think...anyway get it
Customer Review: pleased
I was very happy with the prompt receipt of the tuner, brand new in the box with batteries included. Thank you!

What seems to happen is after using it time and time again, the hard drive connection to the Ipod seems to loosen up so much that it can no longer detect the connection and/or communicate with the Ipod. By slamming it down onto the desk you secure the connection so that way your Ipod can now detect your hard drive.

If you're like many of the other millions of Ipod users out there, you take your little Ipod with you everywhere. Every time you expect it to perform flawlessly, and most of the time it does. However, after months and months of use and abuse, years even, your little Ipod isn't so keen on performing like it did when it was brand new, so one day when you wake up and greet your little Ipod with ears ready for music listening it doesn't greet you back. Instead, it frowns on you and tells you to contact Apple for support only to realize your warranty just ran out 3 days ago. Out of luck? No! Luckily there is a solution to the Ipod Sad Face.

Fix Your Sad Faced iPod

Make sure you take care when slamming your Ipod onto anything, because you don't want to hurt your Ipod or the 'anything' that you're slamming it onto. I, personally have experienced this problem and followed the above steps to fix it, now my trusty 20GB Ipod Photo is working just as happily as it was the first day I got it.

Why is there tab music for guitars? The purpose is to give the guitarist a direction on how to play and does this by presenting a display of the strings and which strings to hit. The tab music basically has strings represented as lines and the finger position to play marked by numbers on the appropriate fret. It is basically pretty easy to follow.

When it comes to playing the guitar, learning how to play guitar tabs is really very important. It is a foundational knowledge needed for beginners trying to learn some songs. Tabs typically are formatted so that they come with the music and the lyrics as well. Some of these tab notations also have other parts of the song in it as well.

Learning Guitar Tabs - Learn How To Play The Guitar

There is no need to pay for guitar music in tab notation. Most of this is available widely on the net for free. Just search online and you'll find lots of tablature music that can keep you busy for a long time. Sure, there are tab notations available for a price and in book format but these are over priced and most likely you can get the same music for free. I advise you print out the tab music and you are good!

Can't get Enough Drums Drum Set Men's T Shirt MEDIUM thru 4X

Amazing looking absinthe shirt. Features the print on the front and back. 100% cotton, pre-shrunk shirts. Brand new from the manufacturer.

This may be due to the brain saturation I was going through when I was studying hard. I now realize that it is important to organize my study time better and not take too much in at any one time. I also realized that it's important to really separate your study time from when you play for pure enjoyment.

I have been an active musician for well over 25 years, but about three years ago I started in the restaurant business and this absorbed all my free time. I was limited to playing only when a show would come up (about once or twice a month), and I even spent about 8 months without playing at all -this is definitely not like me, as I was used to spending about 4 hours a day on the instrument.

I had never really been able to put my finger on an explanation for this, but after reading the aforementioned article, I realized that this is precisely what had happened to me, i.e.: my muscles remembered even though my brain had forgotten some things. It all suddenly clicks together in a beautiful way and you feel like you're a born again guitarist.

I guess the best way to explain this concept would be to tell you about my own experience with this particular phenomenon.

For those of you who have been playing guitar for a while and have had to stop due to other priorities (wife, kids, work, etc.), I'm sure that when you get back into the swing of things, you'll experience something similar. Suddenly, you'll find that there's more to playing than what you originally thought.

It's funny how many things happen to us in our daily lives and we never stop to analyze what they are, or much less, why they happen to us. I was a victim of this in my guitar playing and just lately found the answer I was subconsciously looking for.

Recently, I read an article by Ovidiu Oprescu on "Acoustic Tabs" at his GuitarFlame.com site, which opened my eyes to the reality of muscle memory. It seems that our muscles remember even though our brain may forget.

Getting Back Into Playing Guitar

"JUSTIFIABLE HOMICIDE?" -Growing Up A Baptist Fundamentalist-

The book is about my bizarre yet comical life growing up a Baptist Christian Fundamentalist. As an adult I became an Evangelist and a Pastor, and eventually a Secular Atheist Freethinker. To my surprise, and all my relatives, the actual transition was quite rapid and with resounding finality.

I lived my childhood, teenage, and young adult years in South Bend, Indiana during the 1940’s and 50’s, just a few miles from Notre Dame’s golden dome. We were the Christian bible thumpers and they were the infamous Pope’s Catholic "pawns". I found myself treading water in an ocean of immense emotional conflict and psychological turmoil; my teenage hormones only supercharged my dilemma.

Later, as an adult, an epiphany shattered my Fundamentalist indoctrination, forever erasing my Christian Baptist beliefs. In our post 911 world, “Justifiable Homicide?” can be a Rosetta stone to unlock the core code of religious extremism. The book is biographical, with humor throughout. I allow biblical ethos to speak for itself.
Customer Review: Entertaining. It made me laugh out loud many times... quite an expose'.
Having been raised Episcopalian,I had no idea what it might be like being a religious fundamentalist. The read truly was an adventure into the author's childhood and early adult world. I was the mesmerized fly on the wall. It was a pleasureable read that entertained and made me think about things in religion that previously never crossed my mind. I found myself feeling scared for kids in any kind of fundamentalism. Sometimes it was a roller coaster with dips leaving me somber, and then the next paragraph I was laughing. Thanks for telling your story Dean Aughinbaugh, I will recomend your book.
Customer Review: Justifiable Homicide
"Justifiable Homicide" gave me much to ponder over. It is a true story that clearly maps out the difficult mental journey made by the author. It is written with a deep understanding of the sensitive issues. The book demonstrates the difficult task of how he finally emerged into adulthood as a whole, free thinking individual. I applaud his courage and perseverance to overcome and was pleased to find out that he is finally at peace with his youthful demons. This is also a story of a talented and very intelligent individual who experiences his growing up years to the fullest and imparts his various adventures with humor. I highly recommend "Justifiable Homicide" to anyone who is trying to come to grips with their own religious beliefs.

Step 5 - Grab the loose part of the string with one hand and with the other start turning the tuning peg. As you turn the peg, hold the string tightly away from the guitar to insure that it wraps tightly, with no slack. This will stop the string from going out of tune as you're playing. When the string is getting tight against the fretboard, You can let go and continue to slowly turn the peg a little bit more and then top.

All the best,

Step 6 - Make sure as you turn the peg that the string is winding downward, and don't let it flip over itself. Your goal is tog et about 2 1/2 to 3 full winds on each string.

Many guitarist make the same mistake when stringing a guitar, they don't wind enough of the string onto the tuning peg or they wind too much.

Here is how to string your guitar.

Why is this seemingly simple thing so important? Because the greater the angle between the nut (the top part of the guitar) and the tuning peg, the better the sustaining qualities of the string. Simply put, it makes you sound better. And your strings will not go out of tune as fast. Of course you can always wind too much as well, and then the strings will tend to slip out of tune easier. You want to have just the right amount.

The Secrets of Correctly Stringing Your Guitar

Step 2 - Turn the tuning peg until the hole is in line with the neck.

This is something that no fx pedal can reproduce, clean natural sustain. Of course after you have this sustain you can play with it all you want with your fx pedals.

Step 4 - Next thread the string through the hole in the tuning peg until it is tight. Now back the string up about 3 inches so that it loosens.

Why do you care about stringing your guitar you may ask. Well the reason is simple. It will make you sound better because if your guitar is properly strung, you will get longer natural sustain.

Step 3 - Starting with the thickest string - The low "e", thread the string through the bridge (bottom part of the guitar). Each guitar has different ways to do this, but it is usually very easy to see where the strings go.

Step 1 - Take all the strings out of the package and lay them out from the thickest to the thinnest. When you go to buy strings, always try and get the same gauge, as changing the gauge could mean problems with intonation, and may require truss rod adjustments.
